    In the month of October the farmers generally dig out their potatoes. For the purpose of digging a spade is used.
    The farmer mounts the ridge and begins to dig on the left hand side. He cuts equally between the two stalks so as not to injure the potatoes.
    He throws out the sod and hits it lightly with the spade and lets the sod fall back into the furrow throwing out the potatoes upon the levelled ridge. The centre sod is continued in the same manner and also the right hand one.
    In the evening a school boy or girl picks the big healthy potatoes and heaps them in a triangular heap. The small ones are then picked and are put in a separate
