- There is one forge in this district. It is in the townland of Dervolanagher. The Smith's name is Andy MacTernan. The man who built that forge was Anthony Flynn.The old people used to say what he could tell if a person stole iron as soon as they took it to him, and when he went to use it or repair it - therefore he used not to work with it.The forge is one storey thatched house on the road side with a stream running by it.There are two fire places in the forge no window and one door. The smith shoes horses, asses, makes farm implements, fire grates crooks and many other little things.The Smiths - Flynns were very strong. One of them Michael Flynn Anthony's nephew was very strong.
