- The most harmful weeds on our farm are the dock weed, bochalaans, nettles, redshanks, chicken weed, lamb's quarter, furabawn, dead nettles, and thistles, groundsel, flaggons and rushes. Water cress is sometimes eaten as food. Rushes, dock weeds, redshanks and flaggons are found on bad land. Other herbs are mouse's ear, dandelions and gosher lane. Furabawn is put on cuts to make them stop bleeding. Nettles and dock weeds are chopped up and mixed with meal and potatoes and given to hens. Scout guns is another harmful weed.
