- Terence McTernan was one night coming from a house in which he was working. It was about twelve o'clock on a cold winter's night. The people of the house went very hard on him to stay until morning, but he said he'd go home. When he was about twenty yards from the house, to his amazement, he heard a voice from behind a fence saying "go back." He gave it no heed, for he thought it might be some of the people of the house that wanted him to stop until morning, as it was so late in the night. He continued walking, but he heard the same voice again ordering him to go back, but still he passed no heed of it. The third time the voice stood before him, and said in a more angry tone "go back." He stood and thought that he often heard it was not right to go a place, that you are crossed in going. He turned to go back when immediately four large lights arose from the middle of a field and showed him light until he landed back to the house from which he started. The house belonged to John Hamilton of Gorcosconney, Parish Killinummery(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
