- The Banshee is heard after certain families. James McSherry of Kiltyclogher Townland heard it one night. He heard it just before Mrs. McNiff died. It was over at the house [the words "that it was" are underlined and are crossed out]. He was going down the street at the time.
The day before, he heard that she was very sick and when he heard it he knew she would die.

- Another night the Banshee was heard by a priest. At that time his mother was about to die. He heard it when he was in bed and the cries wakened him. He got up and looked out on the window and there he saw a little woman crying. He said to it, "Ah! you dawny creature, you never come with good news".
