  1. The Ghost
    Sally and James Dorien were man and wife and they lived in a small cottage.
    Sally had a lot of fine bowls of which she was very proud. One morning James had a great story to tell his comrades of how the devil had come in the night and how he had got the gun and fired a shot and how the devil had taken himself off to the place where he had come from in a great fright. But that was not the true story; the true one was that Sally and James had been wakened by a noise outside and on looking out they saw a ghost but it was no ghost it was only a man with a sheet round
