- A person who gets married on a Monday will have health,
and on Tuesday will have wealth,
and Wednesday is the best day of all the rest.
Thursday is for losses,
Friday is for crosses.
But Saturday is no day at all
Long ago the people used to say that when two people got married they should leave a piece of the wedding cake to the fairies and if they did not they would be hungry for life.
On Easter Sunday morning all the girls have pusses on them, when they did not get married before Lent, and all the boys fire salt at them so that they would not go bad.
