  1. Long ago when Daniel O'Connell was in Ireland he was in court one day. A certain man was accused for murder. After he had the murder done he was running throught the city he lost his hat. Another man by the name of Thomas found the hat and brought it to the court. "Give me the hat for a moment" said O'Connell. "Did you examine this hat perfectly" he said. "I did" said the witness. "Are you sure" "I am" was the answer. Then O'Connell looked at it very carefully and spelled aloud J-a-m-e-s. "Now" he said "did you see that name on it"
    "I did" Now my Lordship said O'Connell "that is an end to this case". "There is an end to the case" said the judge aloud "There is no name on the hat" So the man got free. It showed how O'Connell was so wise in court. He was very clever
