Ar an leathanach seo
- In former times in this locality no person under the age of fourteen or fifteen years ever wore shoes or boots, and this is still carried on in Summer among the children. Sometimes they wear clogs in the winter. It is said that when a person washes his feet at night the water is thrown out sideways so that if a member of the family is on a journey the throwing out of the water sideways prevents the person from going astray.
If it is too late to throw out the water, a coal of fire is put into it to prevent the "fairies" from coming into the house.
There are four shoemakers in this locality, one in Boyhill and three in Athenry, these men repair shoes(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
