- Twelfth night: This is called little Christmas night. A custom survives in this district in connection with this night. Twelve candles are made of rushes. A bed made from ashes and cowdung is then made and candles which are dried, peeled and greased are then placed in the bed in proper order. At midnight each member of the family selects a candle and then the candles are lighted. It is supposed that the person who chooses the candles that dies first will also die first.
