In those days many people could make charms. When a person broke his leg a person came who could make charms. He tied a woollen thread then times around the leg. He burnt the threads off then with a hot iron and the leg was cured. If a person had toothache and met a man riding on a white hours, if he asked him for a cure for toothache, the man on horse-back gave the other man a job to do, and if he done it the toothache would be cured.
