- HerbsThe most harmful weeds on our farm are, the chicken weed, Cparpce, dock, squitch-grass and ground ivy.
The chicken-weed and Cpaipce generally grow amongst corn, and prevent the growrth of oats whesat barly etc.
The dock usually grows in potatoe soil or grass corn.
It impoverishes the soil and prevents the crop from thriving because the roots which grow deep in the ground, absorb all the substance necessary for the growth of the plant.
The local name for the ground-ivy is "rolim"(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
