- Signs of Weather
There is an old saying which is concerned with the signs of weather "A rainbow in the morning is the shephard's warning and a rainbow at night is the shephard's delight". When crows and swallows fly low we are going to have at least one week of wet weather. At night when the stars are very numerous in the sky we are going to have a heavy frost.
It is easy to know when we are going to have rain because the clouds seem to be over our head and in the summer if a day is real hot, dead and heavy it is said that we will have a fall of rain. Whenever a dog starts eating grass it is said that we will have a fall of rain.(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
