Ar an leathanach seo

  1. The food the people used long ago was oaten bread and butter-milk which was taken for breakfast. They used to go out to work and when they had worked for an hour, they came back for their meal. They used to keep the table hanging on the wall and take it down for the meals.
    They used to go out and work again until dinner, which was potatoes and salt. They had very little time to rest. They would go out to work again until ten o'clock and come in for supper which was potatoes or porridge.
    When tea first came to the country the people used to use it on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day and when Christmas was gone, they hid the tea in the rafters until Christmas.
    They used wooden cups. They used to have porcín cabbage, and bacon on a wedding day.
    This is the way they used to make teh oaten bread with boiling water, a pinch of salt
