  1. The Mass Rock
    During the Penal Days, Mass Rocks had to be raised so that the priests should say Mass for the poor Catholics of Ireland.
    It brings back to our minds the picture of our forefathers hearing Mass secretly while the priest on whose head there was a price read it.
    There is a Mass rock in Derry about half a mile from Fahy school.
    It is shaped like a chair without legs under which there is a cave in which the sacred vessels were kept.
    Late every night people see the ghost of that priest walking from Prospect gate to the Mass rock where it disappears into the cave.
    Before he died he said to the people, "As long as Prospect is Prospect I shall be there".
