    The travelling folk used not come as often to the country in olden times as they do nowadays. The usually travel in bands. Sometimes a whole crowd of them joins up and they buy a caravan.
    The Casey's and the Sweeney's are the best known travelling folk in this country.
    Sometimes gypsies comes from foreign countries. They are yellow complexioned people. They are able to tell people what will happen in the future. The gypsy would have to have a piece of silver in her hand while she would be doing this. This is called " crossing the palm"
    These folk usually sell lace and curtains. Sometimes they sell Delph and blessed pictures and combs. The people usually buy something from them
