- 1. There is a well in Castlegar called Saint Cuan's well. It is So called because when St. Cuan was building the seven churches there, a red-haired woman crossed the well and the saint said he would have no luck there. There is a small tree beside the well The people go every year on the 15th of October to do a station there. They go fifteen times around the well saying the Rosary. The cross was stolen from the well and brought to a church in Sligo. The landlord of the place made them bring it back to the well he said he had bad luck. Some people get cured when they go to the well. Poor people come and sell the drinks for a penny each. There are steps going down to Ladies' well It is a big well.
