    and hunted the monks. When the monks were sailing away, a fleet of ships followed them from the islands with guns.
    The ships were coming up to the monks, and the latter were in great danger. Suddenly the monk's ship rose up in the air, and the ships from the island were obliged to return to their home.
    The monks got to safety and landed in another country.
    This story was told to me by my grandmother, aged seventy six years living in Fairfield about a mile and half from the village of Aughrim.
