- All over the country the people have a lot of customs for wakes and funerals. These are the most common around this district. When a person dies the clock is usually stopped so that the wont know know the time and they will keep the corpse a little after the time appointed. After having dressed the deceased in a brown habit they used to lay it on two tables which are fixed in the form of a cross and hand three sheets and three towels with straw ropes from the rafters.As each person comes in the say a few prayers and take a pinch of snuff which used to be at the feet of the dead person(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
