green and swollen eating grass and nettles.
there is supposed to be a man buried just inside the school-wall since the Famine times.

The year of the Great Famine was called by the people "Black '47", on account of all the potatoes being bad and black. The people dug all the potatoes from the ground black, then they cut the black portion off and ate them. They also ate Indian meal porridge with buttermilk.
The Famine was followed by a great sickness from which many died.
