When the people in the country begin to make a churning they put a coal under it for fear the fairies would take the butter, and they also throw a pinch of salt on the lid of the churn it is said it keeps the butter on the milk.

If you couldent get butter on the milk you should stick something steel in the churn and the butter would come on the milk, you never should throw out water during a churning.
Horses or asses tacklings should never be brought
