- Tippertstown is my home townland and district near where Strongbow lived in the village of Stillorgan, where his home still stands in the shape of a castle, with small narrow windows. It is inhabited at present, by people called Edwards.
The roads go in the shape of a "T" with a road curved at the top. It has a population of about 263 people excluding he village of Stillorgan, and about sixty six houses, with only five or six modern ones, but they are all slated.
Many ruins are in the district, the most of which stand beside us. The ruins of three houses stand in our yard, which were used nearly forty years ago, and in which my Daddy was reared. The roof is gone off them all, and it is grown in with weeds, and blackberry bushes. The traces of fireplaces, and halls are still to be seen, and recognised. The district is in the barony of Rathdown.
The chief river is that, that runs down from the reservoir, and goes under the road and down by the front of our house, and then it goes, underground mostly into the sea at Blackrock. There are not any lakes around, but there are four ponds, one on which lilies grow, but you would never get one. On another pond there is a Water Hen, and every year, she(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
