There was malt made in it. There is part of the upper floor left and the staircase is still as complete as ever, almost.
Tippertstown is in the Barony of Rathdown. The stands also in the yard on which our house is built, the ruins of three houses. In my great Grandmother's time, there were cowsheds, pig styes and other animals' accomodation of which not a trace can be found except the floor of the pig-sty which strange to say is concrete.
There is the house of the Earl of Pembroke, which the front is now converted into a chapel for the Mount Merrion Estate.
The name that is oftenest is Jackson of which there are two families. There ar no lakes but the Reservoir, and a few ponds. The Round Pond, The Lily Pond, and the Island Pond.
