- One wet day as I had nothing to do, I just thought I would like to make a toy cat. So I got a nice piece of black cotton, and red linen, a needle, pins, thread (black), and I got a red lead pencil, and two red buttons.
First I sewed the black cloth in the shape, and I left a space in order to make the nose. When I had that much done, I got some cotton wool, and I stuffed it in as hard as I could, and I put some into the little space that I left in the cloth. Then I got the red linen buttons, and I sewed each on in order to make the eyes. Then, I cut two ears out of the red linen, and I trimmed them with black, and then, I sewed the ears on high up over the eyes. Then I took the red lead pencil, and I made the cat's lips. When it got fine, I went to the wood, and got a handful of pine needles, and when I got home I sewed I sewed three of them each side of its mouth, and my cat was finished. Then I showed it to my mother, and she said it was very nice.
