- Weather Signs
The old people of our district have great experience of weather signs. Now I will tell you of some of the various signs.
Copper dawn is the sign of showers through the day.
Red sky in the afternoon is the sign of a good day following.
The seagulls whirling in the sky is the herald of rain.
A hazy morning is the sign of a good day.
A heavy frost tells us of a heavy storm of wind and rain.
When the moon is turned it is a sign of bad weather.
A white sun is the sign of rain and wind.
When the northern lights are seen it is the sign of bad weather. Some other day I might hear more weather signs and I shall tell them to you.Thomas Saunders
