- Game Wallflowers
A great number of children may play this game. They all join hands and form a ring. Then they begin to sing "Wallflowers, wallflowers, growing up so high.
We're all pretty fairmaid, and would not like to die,
Especially (Vera Quirke) who is the youngest child.
O! fie for shame, fie for shame,
Turn your back against the game."
The girl who is named turns her back and this continues until everybody has his or her back turned. Then they can all turn back and commence over again.
