- There is one fairy fort in this district that I know of. It is called by the name of "Knock - Se - Dan". It is situated about 2 miles south-west of Swords. It is a large round mound beside the river Pell. It has no opening in it. Old people say it is unlucky to cut a tree around it. It is said that a battle was fought around that locality a long time ago. The men that were killed were supposed to be buried. The fairies took advantage of this as a fort, as there is music heard there at mid-night. It is on such a height that the farmer who owns it can not plough it.
