- There was a family of OMalleys of Burrishoole who used to be buried in the Abbey. Everybody would be taken away out of grave next day. An OMalley girl was buried. Brother said he would watch. He was armed with a sword. At 2am he saw a great eel come out of the river which began to root up the grave. He attacked and made three pieces of him. Next morning the lake was all bloody. No more bodies taken after that.
