- In olden times people believed that there were fairies in Ireland. My mother was telling me that there used to be fairies at a place called the Waterfall in a big glen between Drung and Ballyargus.
The fairies wore green coats and red caps, and shoes with very bright buckles. The fairies sat along the banks of the river and sang.
people thought that when they went out, the fairies came in, and took away the good child and left a bad one in its place.
