- While a man was returning home from a fair one evening he heard beautiful singing under a bridge a short distance from his home. He called the singers to come out but they refused to do so. Being angry because of the refusal he went home and returned with a large stick. Going down under the bridge he saw a lot of fairies. He went in and hit a number of them with the stick. That night when he was in his bed he heard the same singing under his bed. The singing lasted all night and kept him from sleeping.
