- The game of Jacks is not often played now, it has almost died out. About thirty or thirty five years ago the children used to play it al school during their play time.This is how it was played. You get five small stones and place four of them on a table or any flat surface, one at each corner so as to form a square. Then you throw up the fifth stone and lift one of the four on the table quickly, so as to catch the one thrown up. Then leave the one you caught aside on the table and throw up the one in your hand again and lift one of the four. Repeat till you have the four on the table lifted.Then you put two together on the table and throw up one and try to lift one of the groups of(continues on next page)
