About seventy years ago a man who lived in Meenbane along with his wife One night about two o clock there came a knock to the door. the man rose and opened it he met a fairy. The fairy said to him if you dont die inside two years I will give you a pot of gold. The man said it is only God knows whether I will or not. So the man never heard or saw the fairy after that. His wife died about a month after that. People say it was a token to show him that it was his wife not himself.
