Folklore
“There lives at Gortletragh a family call Darnins who have in their possession a bush which the say is 'gentle'.”
There lives at Gortletragh a family called Durnins who have in their possession a bush which they say is "gentle". It is said that this family at one time had a lot of cows but that they all died. The people did not know what the meaning of this was. Some one told Mrs Durnin to move her sink to the front of the house. After that the Durnins always had good luck. It is said that that water which was going down the sink was troubling the "wee folk."- Collector
