Ar an leathanach seo
- In olden times people had not nearly as many kinds of bread as they have nowadays.
They had three varieties namely, Oaten bread, Boxty bread, and potato bread.
Oaten bread is made as follows, A quantity of oaten meal is put into a dish and a spoonful of baking soda and a table spoonful of sugar and some butter are added. Boiling water is then poured into a dish and all mixed up. It is then flattened out and made round with the hand. Then it is placed beside the fire on an iron to harden.
To make potato bread, potatoes are boiled and then the skin is peeled off.
The potatoes are then bruised on the bakeboard with a bottle and afterwards(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
