  1. There are lots of beliefs about the weather in this district. One of these beliefs is about the moon and it is this : when there is a ring round the moon that is said to be a storm coming.
    Another local belief is, that when the sun sets very red it is a sign of good weather but there is a change coming shortly after.
    Another belief is when the stars are very bright and clear that is a sign of frost and good weather.
    There are some local sayings about the months such as March and February.
    The old saying about March is :

    And out like a lamb.
    The old saying about February is :
    February blow fair and clear.

    It is said that when wild geese come from the sea to the land that is a sign of rain and storm.
