- Hidden Gold
In Coole Upper there is a great rock about twelve feet long and nine feet wide. It is said that a giant is buried under this rock. It is known as the "Giants Grave"
Long ago there was a man over in Creeslough who dreamt three nights in succession that there was gold hidden under the stone. Hoping to enrich himself, he and his three sons left Creeslough and came over to Coole Upper to dig for the gold. After a journey of five miles across rough mountain they reach the rock. Then, all excited about the prospects of finding the treasure they began eagerly to dig. When digging a short while one of the men chanced to look towards Creeslough. To his amazement he saw the whole village, even his own house on fire. With great haste they returned home to find their own home and Creeslough just as they left it. They decided to forget all about the treasure as they thought the place was enchanted.
Later on, however, the man dreamt again of the treasure hidden under "The Giants Grave". Again he and his three sons set out across the mountain to dig. when they excavated(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
