  1. Tis sweet to sit at evening time
    And view the castle grove,
    But sweeter far in Summer time,
    Its shady paths to roam,
    I've travelled most the South of France,
    The Alps, I did explore,
    Beauties rare, they have their share,
    But cannot touch Lismore,

    Blackwater flows so gently on,
    To swell the seep blue sea,
    Its beauteous course, behold for miles,
    Till hidden by Kilbree,
    The Comeraghs in the distance to heaven seem to soar,
