  1. My townland is called Baldara from the oak trees which once grew there. There are only a few oak trees there now. The district is very hilly and slopes.
    A small river named the Nanny rises in the district and flows through it. Nine people live in Baldara. Other people have land in the district but they live outside it. There are the ruins of five old houses. There is not an old person or one who can speak Irish in the place. There are only two houses and neither of them is thatched.
    My home is situated about 300 yards in off the road.
