    Roinn Roinn Postáil
    One day some men were engaged in making poteen on the hill behind Lossett School. They left one of their number to keep a watch in case the police came. After some time he came to them and reported that the revenue officer was coming. Sure enough they could see a number of men approaching wearing helmets which glistened in the sun. As they had the poteen almost made they decided to finish it and then destroy evidence of their work. They did so and carried off the poteen. Next day the police did raid the place but could find nothing.
    The local people believe that it was the "wee folk" (fairies) who gave them the warning on the previous day.
