Meenagolin is my townland, Killaghtee my parish and Banagh my Barony.

Meenagolin is my townland, Killaghtee my parish and Banagh my Barony.
There are six houses now, three slated, and three thatched but there were ten long ago.
    The commonest name is Dorrian.
Meenagolin means the shoulder of the slant (?)
Neither of the two old women over 70 years of age can tell old stories.
John McGrath, Meenagolin, Bruckless Co Donegal, has plenty of stories but he is under 70.
There are four old ruins, three of them about 400 yds below Mrs Breslin's and the other about 1/2 mile further on.
Plenty used to go to America before the emigration was stopped.
    The land is farley good.
Meenagolin was wooded in olden times as we still have the roots of the fir trees in the deep wet land.
Croagh Loch is between Meenagolin and Croagh.
Tras-scríofa ag duine dár meitheal tras-scríbhneoirí deonacha.
