- There are four forts or "forths" as they are called locally in the Ardaghy district of the parish of Inver. There is one on White Hill on the property of Canon Munro, rector. There seems to be no local tradition regarding this fort.
There is a fort on the Piper Hill in the townland of Inver. There is a story told of a crock of gold in the vicinity of this fort but no account of it having ever been searched for.
On Coolshannon hill on the land of John Campbell there is a fort in which treasure was supposed to be hidden. A man named John Keeney who lived in Coolshannon is said to have dreamed two nights in succession about the treasure and that he would find it under a spot where he would discover some half pence. The third night he dreamed that it would be wiser not to look for the treasure.
John Campbell of Coolshannon, a man nearly ninety years of age, says Keeney found the halfpence but did not seek for the treasure.Trenches were dug in the fort in the night time at a later date but by whom dug or whether any treasure was found is not known.
