  1. Long ago people used many different cures for different illnesses.
    People use a docken to make stings better, by rubbing the docken on the sting.
    Chicken-weed is boiled in water and then the weed is rubbed on sore eyes.
    To cure warts, get three branches off a board-tree and rub each one on the warts three times in the names of the Trinity. Then bury the branches, and when the branches are buried, the warts begin to get better. Only a person who has this cure can do it.
    A cure for warts is that when a person who has warts is going some place [sic] that when they come across water unexpectedly that they wash their hands in this water.
