- Once upon a time a small woman wearing a red shawl came into a house. She never spoke, but she held a green leaf in her hand. When the woman of the house asked her what she wanted, she stretched out her hand with the green leaf in it.The woman of the house went to the dresser, and got some butter and put it on the leaf. The (little) small woman then went to the door and then outside. She was followed to the door by the woman of the house, but the little woman was not to be seen. The family had a great deal of butter on the milk for the whole year
