- There used to be binders long ago. For instance, one bought a weekly book they kept it untill they had six or seven or untill the stories would be completed from one book to another. Then, they took it to the book-binders and they got it bound. You could get it done in leather or paste-board or any way you wanted it. At one time, there used to go round men who make mattresses out of straw. You gave them wheat straw and they would make a mattress for your bed for about a shilling. There is another old trade that is going out of existence, that of the dish turner. Who used to make wooden dishes, which were used for making butter.(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
