- A few years ago, a tombstone was found in the mill garden with the name of Rev Knox carved on it. Rev Knox was the first Protestant clergyman of Drumholm. The tombstone was later taken to Derry by some of the Knox family who lived there.
There was an old monastery in the townland of Ballymagroarty and a manuscript containing the Psalms which was written by St Columba is said to have been kept in it. This manuscript was carried in front of battle and it now in the Royal Academy Dublin. A square shaped bell was dug up near the monastery about a hundred years ago and it was given to Captain Hamilton.
