    About sixty years ago, there was a flood in this district and there was a great many crops destroyed and there were many sheep lost. The water went into a house at Laghey bridge and it tossed it. But the people that were in the house escaped in time to save their lives. In the year 1922 there was a great thunder-storm. There was a woman killed with lightening and one of her cows were killed the same night. The same evening there was a man who lived in Ballinakillew getting hay at the hay-stack and he saw a ball of fire coming towards him, he thought it was was going to hit him, but it passed without doing him any harm and it struck a oak tree that was near him and it split it to
