- Long ago the people waited till night to get married and nowadays the people go up in the morning. In those days motor-cars were unknown and the people who were getting married went up to the chapel on side-cars.
Seven o clock was the usual time they went up to get married at. The bride and groom used to go on the first car and six or seven other side-cars followed after with the Bride and Groom’s friends.
In those days people got married in blue. The Bride used [to] wear a light blue frock and the groom used to wear a dark blue suit. They got married in blue because they said “Married in blue is sure to be true”
After the people were married they used to go to some of the Bride’s friends for their dinner.- Bailitheoir
