Ar an leathanach seo

  1. Long ago, the people used to eat four meals every day, and these were the breakfast, dinner, atea and supper.
    The breakfast consisted of whole meal bread and tea, no eggs were eaten.
    The people did not eat meat very often to their dinner as it was too dear.
    The dinner consisted of potatoes, salt and pepper, onions and buttermilk, sometimes sweet milk, and boiled cabbage, or carrots were eaten also.
    The tea consisted of wholemeal bread, and butter, and tea.
    The supper consisted of oat meal porridge and buttermilk, and sometimes indian meal porridge.
    These meals were usually ate at a table placed in the middle of the kitchen, and when each meal was over the table was hung up against the wall, such tables are still to be had in some country houses yet.
    In olden, the people had different times every day for eating their meals.
    If any members of the family were away the dinner would not be ate till he would come back, and maybe
