  1. The Abbey Well, which is situated a short distance from Assaroe cemetery has, from the time of Saint Patrick, been a place of pilgrimage. In the late years, on Lady Day - the 15th August - thousands of people assemble there to hear Holy Mass and make a Station at the hallowed spot.
