The House and Things Relative to the House
“Rush candels were used to light houses.”
(1). Rush candels were used to light houses. They were usually made in any house. Later they were made in the house now owned by J. A. Grehan of Castle Street, Ballyshannon.(2). A “nogger” was an instrument used by butter-buyers. They dipped it in the Butter and tasted the butter on it. If the butter was good they bought it and exported it.
